Tour description

From Waldspitz, this hike follows a short section of the nature trail before branching off to the right. Hike to the north of the idyllically situated Rothenegghütte mountain hut through a wild and romantic Alpine landscape of groves of trees, hills and hollows, flower-carpeted fields and mountain meadows. The trail crosses a gully above the hut and then leads either through gently descending terrain directly or by way of Bussalp-Oberläger to the destination. The entire hike offers fantastic views of the Grindelwald Valley and surrounding peaks, seven of which are more than 4000 metres high.

Excellent trail with a steady slight descent.
Normal hiking equipment, hiking boots with good treads, hiking poles an advantage on downhill sections.
Late May to Mid-October.
