Tour description

It's easy to see why this snowshoe tour is so popular: the trail is well signposted, easy to walk and offers a chance to enjoy the idyllic winter landscape off the hiking trails in all its beauty and tranquillity.

The marked trail begins next to the mountain station of the Bettmeralp cable car, leading up a gently rising path to the Hotel Waldhaus. From here, the trail passes the Chalet Tosca and then runs parallel to the Blausee chairlift, along the edge of the forest and up to Gopplerlücke. This is not just the highest point on the snowshoe tour; you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the snow-covered Valais Alps. From here on, the route runs gently downhill along the forested ridge and via Schweibuflüe to the Restaurant Golmenegg, where you should cross the Aletschpromenade and follow the trail further down. Passing by St. Bernard's Chapel, continue hiking eastwards on the relatively flat terrain via Biel and Flesch . A short climb through an idyllic woodland will lead you to the Aletschpromenade by the Restaurant Adler. Follow the road from here back to Bettmeralp.
