The rise to the pass of San Gottard through the valley of Tremola can be said to be the Paris Roubaix of the alps: a spectecular trail because its unique and for its landscape.
You start in Airolo (1141 m above sea level) and after the first part rather steep leading out of town, the slope become less steep and allow you to enjoy the great view over the valley down to the bottom. Quick starts the first parts of pavement, which leads to the zone of Motto Bartola: here starts the valley of Tremola, and this is for sure one of the most spectecular and demanding parts of the hole rise. The road is a real masterpiece of engineering and driving through instil you a great impression; you rise countless bends up while gaining quickly height in a regular gradient to come to the summit which is at 2091 m above sea level.
