This wonderful circular tour is an ideal way to explore the Aletsch Plateau and the idyllic Valais villages and hamlets on the sunny slopes below. The fact that riders are not only rewarded with panoramic views of the Rhone Valley and the Valais mountains but can also make full use of their skills is probably what makes the tour so popular.
The route starts by the tourist office in Fiesch and first leads via Wiler to Lax. Shortly after the village, the path joins the well developed, paved road of Martisbergerstrasse that runs uphill to Martisberg. Once you reach Ritti, leave the road and switch to the forest path that branches off to the left, leading to the hamlet of Egga. You can make a detour to the idyllic Betten village at this point if you wish. The tour itself leads up a dirt track from Egga and past the hamlet of Domo to Bettmeralp. From here it's well worth taking a trip to the beautifully located Bettmersee lake, just a few minutes from the centre of the village. The route now continues along an unpaved track on a moderate incline towards Fiescheralp, the highest point of the tour. After a break in one of the village's many restaurants, you can look forward to a rapid descent via Laxeralp and the Laxerwald forest down to Fiesch.
