Tour description

The modern 6-seater gondola cableway takes you to the First in the middle of a walker’s paradise. From here the path ascends and descends gently up to the Bachsee. Grazing cows reflecting in the lake and the snow-capped giants of the Bernese Alps dominate the landscape. Leaving the lake past the refuge hut in a northerly direction one climbs up towards the ridge. Soon one reaches the path to Axalp, crosses the ridge and turns off towards the east to Hiendertellti.
Shortly after, one passes the Hagelsee, partly still snow-covered well into late summer. Following along the Hiendertelli with the Häxensee one reaches the Wart with the Blau Gletscherli. From Wart a detour up to the 2892 metre-high Wildgärst (Route A) is recommended. One descends via the Blau Gletscherli to Wischbäch; Oberläger back to the ridge and, following this, back to the Grosse Scheidegg.

Route A: Wart - Wildgärst (distance: 0.6 km / altitude difference: 187 hm / hiking time: 1 h)
