The second itinerary goes to Val Rovana, Valle di Campo, and the Alpe di Sfille. Start from Cavio and take the road to Linescio on the left. Keep going as far as Cimalmotto and at 100m before the church there’s a narrow road for 2.5 kms as far as Pianelli. Continue by foot: cross the bridge and follow the signed path through the larch woods as far as Fiumigna, then carry on for about an hour and a half until you get to the Alpe. The rustic buildings that make up the Alpe are full of charm. Cheese made of a mixture of milk is on sale from the middle of August.
While you’re at Cimalmotto take a look at the frescoes painted by Borgnis (1701-1761) in the portico of the church of S. Maria Assunta. At Linsecio you can still see how the land was terraced a long time ago for the cultivation of rye, hemp, flax, potatoes and other vegetables.
