This circular trail around Saas-Fee offers a gentle hike with gorgeous views of the village combined with a revitalising Kneipp experience. The circular path starts in Wildi, the rearmost part of Saas-Fee and a place that truly lives up to its name: the woods that border Wildi are full of local wildlife such as chamois, hares, roe deer and plenty more. These animals are sometimes daring enough to approach the outskirts of the village, and some particularly bold ones have even been known to steal from people’s gardens. As well as the beautiful panoramic views of the mountains above and the village below, the trail provides some fascinating historical and cultural insights.
From Wildi, the wide path leads to Honeggu and then on to Leeboden, with many benches located along the way for scenic pauses. Once it has passed the meadows of Leeboden and the Hinter den Zäunen area, the trail follows the path leading to the Felskinn valley station. At the bend in the road leading back to the sports ground in Saas-Fee, there is a woodland path that takes hikers directly to the Kneipp hydrotherapy area. After some revitalising Kneipp hydrotherapy, hikers follow the woodland path over the valley station for the Plattjen and Spielboden cableways and reach a trail that follows a Suone (ancient water channel) up to the woodland path to Saas-Almagell. The circular trail ends at the panorama bridge that leads to Postplatz.
Pay attention to the information at the Kneipp hydrotherapy area.
