Tour description

From the Eiger Trail you feel you can almost touch the Eiger north face, and you can clearly make out the various different climbing routes to the summit of the Eiger.
The Eiger north face continues to be regarded as a performance benchmark and attractions experts from all over the world. Now it is finally possible for all those who are more or less accustomed to walking in the mountains, to at least venture to the foot of the notorious wall. The path leads over steep Alpine meadows and scree slopes at the foot of the world-famous and imposing Eiger north face, past a wonderful waterfall, to the restaurant and on to Alpiglen station on the Wengernalp railway. The views up to the impressive Eiger wall, to Kleine Scheidegg and to the Lauberhorn, as well as down to the lush Grindelwald valley, are unique and sublime.

Route A: Kleine Scheidegg – Eigergletscher
Short walk close to glaciers and natural surroundings along a wide footpath (distance: 2.2 km / climb: 263 m / time: 1 hr).
Highlights: On a footpath one can hardly get closer than this to the most famous triumvirate of the mountain world. There is a special feeling about walking in the middle of this Alpine scenery in the clear mountain air.
Route B: Alpiglen – Bonern – Glacier Gorge
Exposed mountain footpath posing no problems to the experienced walker (distance: 5.6 km / climb 46 m / time: 4 hrs).
Highlights: The path leads along the foot of the Eiger and is a continuation of the Eiger Trail.

Good walking boots required.

    Tendency: Anstrengender Abstieg, gute Wanderwege
Special: Sehr steiler Bergweg.

Places along the route: Eigergletscher - Wart - Im glatten Wang - Alpigen
