This is a beautiful hike, but you'll certainly feel it in your legs! Starting from the valley floor, hike up from the village of Fieschertal to the Märjelenalp and the Tälligrat. Your reward is a fantastic view of the Fiescher Glacier and, at the end of the hike, the Great Aletsch Glacier.
The hike begins in Fieschertal, where the route first leads along a tarmac road towards Unnerbärg. Follow the roadway until the mountain path branches off to the Stock on the left-hand side. The path quickly becomes steeper, leading across a boulder field and then straight towards a rock face with a small waterfall. From here the route becomes even more challenging, winding its way over rocky ledges up to the Stock. Once this steep climb in the rocks is complete, the hike continues uphill across Alpine meadows to the next destination, the beautifully located Märjelenalp and Vordersee lake. The final stage of the trail is the ascent to the Tälligrat. Hike along the left bank of the reservoir until the path rises up and leads across stone slabs to the ridge. Your reward for all the climbing you've done is the magnificent view of the Märjelensee lake, the Great Aletsch Glacier and part of the Fiescher Glacier.
