Gletscher Nordic Walking

Fluss des Morteratschgletschers

Fluss des Morteratschgletschers

Tour description

This easy tour starts at the Hotel Restaurant Morteratsch, where the train from Pontresina to Tirano also stops. If you take a detour from the high-altitude trail in the direction of the Boval hut, you will come to the Chünetta lookout point (2,083m/6,834ft), where you have the impression that the glacier is right at your feet. Back on the path to the Boval hut, you will shortly reach the fork which leads down to the glacier foreland. A detour along the Glacier Educational Trail to the glacier tongue is highly recommended. After returning to the Hotel Morteratsch, the trail continues past beautiful waterfalls (insider tip!). Following the railway line, you come to the Bernina Pass road, which you should cross to join the path that runs below Piz Albris and back to Pontresina.
