This trail leads to the viewpoint above Heidbodme mountain station, which offers an even more impressive view over the Saas Valley and its eighteen 4,000-metre peaks than at the station itself. The path initially sets off in a westerly direction along the new high-altitude trail to the Antrona Pass, but quickly branches off to the north-west in the direction of Wanne. From here, it is only a short walk across a few small rocky ridges to the viewpoint.
From here, hikers get a beautiful view of the path that, in the old days, was used by traders to travel from Domodossola across the Antrona Pass to the Saas Valley. This trail was used long before the Simplon Pass as a trade route and leads over the Gspon High-Altitude Trail to Stalden and Visp.
Make sure you plan enough time for the hike and be sure to wear sturdy walking shoes and good outdoor clothing.
Pay attention to the cableway timetable.
