From Sücka, we pursue a lovely mountain path along the ridge towards the Rappenstein (2222m), all the while impressed by the scenery. Before the path begins to ascend towards the Rappenstein, we hurry down a narrow path across the steep pastures of the Gapfahl Alp. From Gapfahl we undertake the ascent, via the Undersäss to the Pfälzer Hütte. At the idyllic hut we satisfy our hunger and quench our thirst whilst enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views. After our break we follow a narrow path through the Malbuner Täli and march down to Malbun which is 1600 above sea level.
Tip: Overnight accommodation in the Pfälzer Hütte: fantastic sunrise. From the Pfälzer Hütte a hike in the direction of the Mannheimer Hütte can be pursued.
Option A: Connecting route from Hotel Steg to Berggasthaus Sücka.
Option B: The second day can be shortened by staying at the Pfälzer Hütte overnight: On the following day, you can then take a detour via the Naakopf (2570 above sea level, additional altitude: 462 m) and then back to Malbun.
Option C: For very physically fit hikers the route to the summit of the Rappenstein is recommended, (additional altitude: 151 m) and then back in the direction of Gapfahl.
Option D: Very physically fit hikers can also walk via the Augstenberg and the Sareiserjoch back to Malbun.
The 2-day-tour can also be undertaken in reverse sequence, starting in Malbun, which is physically less demanding.
The bus from the bus stop at the centre of Malbun is recommended for the return journey.
