The Chur city bus no. 2 in direction of Kleinwaldegg, takes you the forest above of the city. This is the starting point of this hiking tour.
Follow the hiking path, pass by the Bärenhütte and follow the forest road all the way up to the Mittenberg. On the way there is a fireplace with fresh spring water. Up at Mittenberg, you have a wonderful panorama view into the Chur Rhine valley, on the opposite situated house mountain Brambrüesch and the mountains around Lenzerheide and the Bündner Oberland.
Descent along the pastures to Maladers, Brandacker and below the Arosa street into the direction of the city again, past the Episcopal courtyard with the famous cathedral. There you will enter the wonderful and historic Old town of Chur again.
Variante A: A well marked hiking trail branches off to the left in direction of the Rote Platte. This trail is rather steep and in the end quite exposed. The Rote Platte is a magnificent viewing point, but you need to be very careful on the small peak. Ascent not recommended when path is wet.
