Tour description

Shortly after the Restaurant Morteratsch, the path branches off to the right and climbs for a short distance. You then walk towards the glacier, sometimes on and behind the glacier moraines. The trail below the hut crosses rocks, which requires a certain surefootedness. The path now climbs steeply over rocks and grassy mounds to the Boval hut; the view from the terrace of the magnificent Bernina Massif is awesome. After a well-deserved rest, you descend by the same route until just before Morteratsch. At the fork, it is worth heading for the Morteratsch Glacier and hiking back to Morteratsch from there.

Variante A: If you want to make a quick detour to the Chünetta viewpoint, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Morteratsch Glacier.

Of limited suitability for families.
