Tour description

From the mountain station you can easily proceed along a good road from Alp Dundel to Dundelegg. The next patch crosses a pasture and involves a gradual 50-meter climb. Already on the ridge you’ll find an unexpectedly generous view featuring the Sarnen and Lungern valleys as well as the Bernese Oberland and the surrounding mountains – giving you a sense of how nice it is up on Mändli. The descent follows the designated path, unless you are an experienced climber doing Option B.

Option A: Approach from Lungern train station to Lungern-Turren aerial tramway (distance: 1.6km)
Option B: Crossing the ridge from Mändli up to Höch Gumme (Beware of exposed and steep rock steps). From Höch Gumme to the mountain station of the chairlift. (distance: 2.4km / altitude difference: 205m / time needed: 2 hours / difficulty level: 5-6)
