Tour description

'Rigi: the Queen of the Mountains' is the slogan of the Rigi Train. And indeed, the view from the summit is fit for royalty. All the larger lakes of the area are visible from here. And the view reaches from Mt. Säntis in the East all the way to the Alps of Lake Geneva, taking in Mts.Titlis and Pilatus on the way. Begin the hike at Rigi-Kaltbad and hike West towards Chänzeli. From here, you will have a fantastic view onto Lake Luzern and the city of Luzern, framed by Mt. Pilatus. Follow the ridge to the peak of the mountain, also known as Rigi-Kulm. From Rigi-Staffel onwards, the route is parallel to the train tracks of the two cogwheel trains that ascend from Vitznau respectively Goldau. Returning to Rigi- Kaltbad from the top is on the same trail as the way up.
