Leaving Forch, ride through Rütihof and Hof and past the church in Wetzwil. Here the route climbs steadily, with a good view of Lake Zurich and the Albis, and passes through Toffwil to the highest point of the pass in Vorderen Pfannenstiel. If you want to get a unique panoramic view, climb up on foot to the Hochwacht and up the Bachtel tower. Thereafter comes a long downhill ride with romantic stretches and a marvelous viewpoint with an outdoor fireplace when you leave the woods on the Pfannenstiel – perfect for relaxing a while. Perhaps you have brought sausages and beverages in your backpack? Once refreshed, continue to Chrüzlen, finding quiet spots and idyllic ponds along the way. Meadows and fields lie to both sides as you proceed on to Willikon, where you can make a worthwhile side trip to the historic little town of Grüningen. The route to Lützelsee passes through marshland, interesting to those interested in natural protection, and the Lutiker Ried, arriving at one of the most attractive bathing beaches of the canton, on the Lützelsee. Ride through the charming tiny village of the same name with its magnificent half-timbered houses, and then continue on to Rapperswil, where you can end the trip with a boat ride on Lake Zurich.
Alternative A: Climb on foot from Vorderen Pfannenstiel to Hochwacht (ca. 0.6 km).
Alternative B: From Willikon to Grüningen (ca. 4 km).
