A virtually nostalgic cable car takes you up from the small Alpine village of Isenfluh to Sulwald (1533 m) in four minutes. From here the path leads though fascinating woodland and stony countryside to Alp Chüebodmi (1692 m), also known as a power place. The path then continues along the Sulsbach up to the Alp Suls and further on to the Sulsseeli (1920 m) before finally reaching the SAC Lobhorn hut (1955 m).
Fantastic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triumvirate. The path leads past various power places: Chuebodmi, Fritzenbrüggli, Sulsseeli. Interesting walk for parents with ambitious children. The rocks are ideal for climbing and playing hide-and-seek.
Route A: Instead of taking the cable car it is possible to walk up from Isenfluh to Sulwald. This takes you past the impressive Sulsbach waterfall. Both the forestry track and the mountainous footpath lead through fascinating woodland scenery. (Additional distance: 2.2 km / additional climb: 427 m / additional time: 1 hr).
Route B: Ambitious walkers can extend the walk over Tschingel to Bällenhöchst and further on to Wilderswil: The path leads in northerly direction from the Lobhorn hut over Tschingel to the Bällenhöchst (2095 m). From here there is a steep descent to Wilderswil (598 m), or a more gradual, longer descent to Saxeten (1130 m). (Additional distance: 10 km / additional climb: +230 m; descent -1580 m / additional time: 3 – 4 hours).
