Tour description

This trail starts in the canton of Fribourg (vallée de la Jogne) and ends in the canton of Vaud (Pays d’Enhaut). It offers stunning views of the contrasting landscape with its steep-sided gorges and the huge plateau of Gros Mont surrounded on all sides by rocks. As you make your way down, you will pass the Morteys Valley, which is part of the Pro Natura reserve of «Vanil Noir» (the tallest mountain in the canton of Fribourg). In 1983, the cantonal government designated the region a nature conservation area, thanks primarily to the valley’s exceptional flora. The area is also home to an impressive array of fauna: ibex, chamois, mountain hares, rock partridge, ptarmigan and even bearded vultures.

Refreshments and accommodation available at Ciernes Picat.

Variants

Variant A: Descent via road to Flendruz
Variant B: Descent to Rougemont

Note(s)
