Tour description

The not-so-well-known Salistock is a legendary mountain: men from Switzerland and abroad were convinced that they could find silver, gold and precious gems above the small Lake Luter there. “Goldbächleins“ (the little golden brook) flows from Alp Bocki to Seelein; its name dates back to that time. The herdsmen of the nearby Alps supposedly chipped away at the cliffs night after night. They bored deep holes into the rocks in the hopes of striking it rich. But the mountain men didn’t like this, and hid their treasures in a mysterious way.
Although it’s not enveloped by legend, the Mettlen-Eggen cable car ride is still an adventure. It’s a bit like a wooden crate suspended in the air. Some say it’s more exciting than the whole tour on Salistock.

Variants

Option A: Starting at Grafenort station and going from there to Mettlen (distance: 1.7km)
