Switzerland’s largest moorland links the municipalities of Habkern and Sörenberg. One of the most attractive areas of moorland – in an area, which is anyway rich in beauty – is the Schwarzbach-Möser nature reserve.
The unique idyll at the foot of the Hohgant mountain can be reached on an easy circular hike starting on Lombachalp. The almost level route leads directly via Färrich to the Schwarzbach-Möser nature reserve. After a picnic stop in the middle of the moorland, the hike continues on an unsurfaced trail. The spacious barbecue spot offers stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau. A wide, gravelled alp road leads gently up over pastureland and through forest to Widegg. You then follow a narrow path on the eastern flank of the Bolberg to zum Läger, before hiking back to Lombachalp on cattle tracks with amazing views.
The annual Cultural Landscape Award is presented to particularly beautiful and valuable cultural landscapes in the Oberland Ost region. Through support and image cultivation on the part of tourism, the award is intended to give farmers a small incentive to continue sustainable management and thus contribute to preserving the beauty of our natural world.
