There are few regions in Switzerland where so many significant castles can be found, as in the area between Lenzburg and the Seetal (Lake Valley) within a relatively short distance, one finds 5 castle of remarkable historical value. They are the castles of Brunegg (privately owned), Wildegg, Lenzburg, Hallwil and Heidegg
The route includes a visit to the castle of Lenzburg and to the moated castle of Hallwil which is remarkably well restored. It can be reached from Lenzburg, strolling along the river Aabach or vice-versa. The visit in this little known but interesting and most attractive region of central Switzerland can be completed with a navigation excursion on the lake Hallwil.
The arrangement can be enlarged to your liking with guided tours in the castles or with an extended walk through the old town of Lenzburg led by one of the official guides.
Or a superb experience would be to make the trip in an open horse drawn carriage from Lenzburg right up to the gateway of castle Hallwil.
