The Val Chamuera is perfect for those looking for seclusion, peace and quiet, and a very special experience of nature. The starting point is La Punt Chamues-ch, where the side valley begins on the valley's right-hand side. The unpaved road is easy to bike on. From time to time the steeper sections along the track require a little more muscle power. The valley gradually narrows into an impressive gorge before opening up again into a wide high-plateau at the rear of the valley. Then, out of nowhere, appears the old white Serlas house once used by mule traders. Here there is a fork in the valley and those keen to continue have a choice: either take the steep ascent to Alp Prüna (option B) or the more leisurely route along the Ova Chamuera to the steep final section up to Alp Prünella (option A). The return journey to La Punt is effortless, whichever one of the three routes you choose.
Option A: From Serlas on to Alp Prünella and back (distance: 7.8 km / difference in altitude: 225 m / duration: 1 hr)
Option B: From Serlas on to Alp Prüna and back (distance: 6.6 km / difference in altitude: 251 m / duration: 1 hr) Options A and B include steep ascents, some of which have to be negotiated on foot.
In the autumn and in the evenings the valley is in the shade and the descent to La Punt can be quite chilly.
