Tour description

The Via Engiadina follows a route not far above the floor of the Upper Engadin valley. The varied hike takes you through Swiss stone pine and larch forests, across little, crystal-clear mountain streams and Alpine meadows, and past idyllic mountain huts and traditional Engadin villages, accompanied all the while by a breathtaking view of the unrivalled Upper Engadin scenery and the glistening glaciers.

Stage 5: Zuoz - Zernez
From Zuoz, the trail ascends through Alpine meadows to Acla Laret where eventually you come to a primeval forest. Follow the Alpine road down to Chapella. After the trail passes through Chapella, it climbs again until you cross the Punt Ota stream in Val Punt Ota, which forms the border between the Upper and Lower Engadin. The Via Engiadina now leads through sweet-smelling Alpine meadows down to Zernez.
