Demanding hike in a beautiful alpine landscape:
The itinerary starts with the climb from the village of Malbun 1600 m above sea level in a southeasterly direction to the Sareiserjoch 2000 m above sea level.
As an alternative one can take the chairlift from Malbun to the mountain restaurant Sareis. Starting at the Sareiserjoch the trail passes through meadows with beautiful flowers and alpine huts in the direction of Austria Gamperdonatal the summer settlement Nenzinger Himmel.
Here is Alp Gamperdona with an interesting dairy and many alpine products and therefore worth a visit.
The path goes further through a nice valley to the alpine hut «Pfälzerhütte» situated directly on the boarder between Liechtenstein and Austria 2108 m above sea level. This is a perfect place to have a rest (even overnight stays are possible). Afterwards the hike continues on a narrow route, that is partly appointed with ropes for your safety, up to the highest point of this tour. This is the peak «Augstenberg» 2359 m above sea level. From there you can enjoy a wonderful wide view over the landscape. Afterwards it goes steeply downwards on a path that is bordered by colourful alpine flowers back to «Sareiserjoch». Here you have the choice between the cable car or to walk down to Malbun.
