As you enjoy an energising stroll, relax and enjoy inner peace in harmony with nature. Eighteen quiet spots ideally suited to meditation and quiet contemplation will let you forget the stresses of everyday life – for a short while, at least.
This popular trail starts off at the Hohsaas Bergbahnen valley station and passes the ski slope above “Unter dem Berg”. Just outside the village of Saas-Grund, the trail branches left, leaving the wide snowy woodland path, towards the St. Anthony’s Chapel, known as “Zum Leng Acher”, which dates back to 1619, making it the oldest existing chapel in the Saas Valley. Postauto buses travelling in all directions depart from the Biedermatten bus station on the road below the chapel.
Variant A: Circular trail. At the bus station cross the road and pass the sawmill (wooden hut). Follow the river up towards the village center Saas-Grund. Behind the house Amarena the track turns left and you can then reach easily the Hohsaas valley station.
- Pay attention to skiers and sledges on the first part of this track.
- Pay attention to the Postauto bus timetable.
- A church and chapel guide is available from all tourist offices in the Saas Valley.
